Don’t forget to check your child’s class page on our website as it is updated weekly with photos and a recap of the week’s events.

Year 6 Superstars!!

Year 6 SATS

Year 6 completed their formal SATs this week.  They have worked so hard over the course of this year demonstrating all of the skills learnt through our Secrets of Success.  They have shown resilience when things got tough, pushed themselves constantly, concentrated, tried new things, improved and have made us extremely proud. We couldn’t have asked for any more from them.  Breakfast was served for them at 8.15am every morning and they were treated like royalty all week – our very own VIPs!!

The week ended with a special treat – a visit from the ice cream van at playtime and a water fight where the children did indeed get their own back on Mrs Farnaby and Miss Sinclair!!!!!!!  Good job these ladies brought spare clothes in!!!!

We are extremely lucky at Clover Hill; our Year 6 pupils have super attitudes to their learning and should feel very proud of what they have achieved so far. We hope they have a really lovely weekend, with lots of rest and relaxation so their batteries are fully recharged.

They have our full approval to be thoroughly pampered this weekend, they certainly deserve it!

We have a fantastic day planned on Monday at Gibside National Trust with Year 6 children from around the borough focussing on positive mental wellbeing and using the great outdoors as a stimulus for being happy.

Year 6 Enterprise Week

Next week Year 6 are going to become ‘entrepreneurs’ and will be making products to sell to the rest of the school. They have formed their own companies:  Badger’s Badges, Bestie Bracelets, Bookmark Besties and Bejewelled Buddies.  Most items will be £1 and will be sold on Friday 14th June in school.

Year 6 are also organising a Summer Disco for KS1 and KS2 and a book fair.  See below for further information on both of these events.

All money raised from Enterprise Week will go towards buying a new reading scheme for KS2 which costs approximately £1500.

Year 3 Pedestrian Training

Year 3 continue with their weekly sessions teaching them how to stay safe as pedestrians.  The team from Gateshead Council comment each week how polite and enthusiastic our children are.  It really is lovely to hear feedback like this from people who work with many different schools and pupils.

NUT FREE

Please remember we are a NUT-FREE school and have pupils with SEVERE nut allergies. Children must not bring in any products that contain nuts.  Please check ingredients before you send snacks/packed lunches into school.

Gateshead Girls

Tournament

Well done to our Year 4/5 girls who represented our school in the ‘Gateshead Girls’ football tournament this week at the Power League Stadium. The girls had worked hard prior to the tournament and practised on a lunchtime with Miss Sinclair.  They came back with silver medals not conceding ANY goals until the penalty right at the very end.  We are still dubious as to whether it went over the line but there was no VAR so the referee’s decision was final!!!
