Pedestrian Training

Published: 20 May '24

Today, we had a visit from Emma from Gateshead Council's Pedestrian Team.

We learned the 4 points of the Green Cross Code:

  1. Stop
  2. Look (right, left, right)
  3. Listen
  4. Think

We also talked about the different types of crossing we can use when crossing roads:

  • A zebra crossing.
  • A pedestrian crossing.
  • A puffin crossing (a crossing for pedrestrians and bikes).
  • A pegasus crossing (a crossing for pedrestians and horses).
  • A school crossing patrol where you should always walk in front of the controller.
  • A traffic island.
  • A footbridge (above the road) or a pedrestrian crossing (under the road).
