Welcome to Year 1! My name is Ms Cable, and I am delighted to be the Year 1 teacher supported by our wonderful teaching assistant, Mrs Tote. Year 1 is a unique and exciting stage of your child’s learning journey, where the continuous provision of the Early Years Foundation Stage begins to blend with the more structured National Curriculum of Key Stage 1. This special balance allows children to continue exploring and learning independently, while also developing the skills needed for more formal learning. We pride ourselves on having a genuine open-door policy and believe that working in partnership with parents is vital to ensuring a smooth and positive transition from Reception. I am always available for a quick chat at drop-off in the morning or pick-up in the evening, so please do feel free to come and see me.
