Reception Class have been finding out about the Lunar New Year.  We read the story of "The Great Race" and discovered why each new year is named after an animal.  We talked about 2026 being the year of the horse.  We explored how people prepare for and celebrate the new year and found out about the things they do to bring good luck to their family.  We found out that red and gold are lucky colours.  In the classroom, we created a restaurant serving Chinese food and we also made dancing dragons.
