28/9/23 Year 6 visit Beamish Museum

We had a fabulous day exploring the Victorian areas of Beamish Museum today.

A Victorian lesson with a ‘real’ Victorian teacher (she was even more strict than Mrs Holden!!!), a tour into the drift mine, a tram ride into the town and lots of really interesting chats with the people who work there all of whom were in character.

We spoke to the dentist, a miner, a miner’s wife, a tram driver and conductor, a Co-op shop assistant and a teacher. They told us what life was really like for the people in the North East during the reign of Queen Victoria.

We can’t wait to make our own posters advertising the museum – there is so much to share with you!!
